Guest Info
Dr. Nunley attained his doctorate at the University of North Dakota after completing a Rehabilitation Neuropsychology internship at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago in 1988. During his internship and early career, he was fortunate to have been mentored by Dr. Mitchell Rosenthal. Dr. Rosenthal was one of the founding fathers of what was then the National Head Injury Foundation, was the founding co-editor of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation, and later served as the Project Director of the National Traumatic Brain Injury Data Base Center. In 1992, Dr. Nunley joined the Staff at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Colorado Springs to assist in developing a Day Treatment program for patients suffering acquired brain injury. Since 1998, he has been on staff at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs where he works with both inpatients and outpatients suffering brain injury as well as a variety of other neurological disorders. Since 1998, he has also provided consultative services to the Greeley Center for Independence, a residential program for TBI survivors, located in Greeley, CO. Over the past 7 years, his deepest interest has been sports-related concussion. How this affects student-athletes, aiding them with appropriate treatment and accommodating them at school/work, and eventually returning them to play take up the majority of his time.
