Guest Info Christopher Tolcher, M.D., F.A.A.P. - Dr. Tolcher was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, until coming to California at the age of 13. He graduated suma cum laude with a Certificate of College Honors from U.C.L.A. in 1988, and then graduated from the University. of California San Francisco School of Medicine in 1992. UCSF inducted him into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Tolcher completed his residency training in pediatrics at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles in 1995, and was elected Chief Resident in Pediatrics from 1995-96. He has been a full-time pediatrician in private practice for 13 years with Agoura-West Valley Pediatric Medical Group, located near Los Angeles, California. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine due to his periodic involvement in teaching residents and medical students in the field of pediatrics. He is actively involved the American Academy of Pediatrics (A.A.P.), including being the Chair of the Committee on Pediatric Practice for A.A.P. Chapter 2 in Southern California, as well as secretary for the Executive Board of the A.A.P. Chapter 2. He is also Vice Chair of the A.A.P.'s Pediatric Council for the state of California, a forum in which representatives of the A.A.P. from around the state of California work with insurance companies to improve health care coverage and quality for the children and teens in the state. In addition, he is a media spokesperson for the A.A.P. which includes frequent appearances on TV and in pediatric features in newspaper and magazine, as well as on the radio.
