Ari Brown, M.D., FAAP, is a pediatrician, author, child health advocate, and a mom. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in child development. After receiving her medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, she completed her pediatric residency and developmental pediatrics fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Children's Hospital Boston
She is a trusted voice for children’s health. Her passion to educate families about children’s health led her to co-author the best-sellling “411” parenting book series including Expecting 411: Clear Answers and Smart Advice for your Pregnancy, Baby 411, and Toddler 411. She has appeared on numerous national news and talk shows including NBC’s Today Show, CNN, Dr. Oz, and Rachael Ray. She has served as the children’s health expert for WebMD and is currently a medical advisor for Parents Magazine and a spokeswoman for the American Academy of Pediatrics.
She has received numerous awards for her dedication to children and families, including the Ralph D. Feigin, MD, Award for Excellence, Texas Super Doctor by Texas Monthly Magazine, Outstanding Young Professional by her university alumni association, and Austin’s Favorite Pediatrician.She has been in private practice for 16 years and resides in Austin, TX with her husband, who is an Ear, Nose, Throat, and Sleep Medicine specialist, two children, and a small but mighty Jack Russell Terrier.
