Guest(s) Boyace Harlan Topic Sleep Disorders Topic Info When daylight savings time began this past Sunday, folks all across the country got more than an hour of sunshine late in the day. They also got to coerce a vital part of their brains into doing something it really doesn't want to do. But what was rough Monday morning probably became impossible by the time today’s alarm rang. If your morning came at a cost, there’s good reason: The biological clock is a key player in controlling everything from the respiratory system, blood pressure and heartbeat, sleep-wake cycles and even depression. Boyace Harlan, manager of Sleep Health at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, discusses circadian rhythm and what it means to your good night’s sleep. For more information on sleep disorders or to schedule a sleep study, call Memorial’s Sleep Health at 337-494-2393. Guest Info A board certified neurodiagnostic technologist and polysomnographic technologist, Boyace Harlan is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology.
