Keeping Our Youth Heart Healthy and Mentally Sound
Topic Info
It’s heart disease that can cause serious health problems, especially in young athletes. The disease has few symptoms and can go undetected if you're not properly screened. The loss of two young, professional athletes earlier this year to sudden cardiac death, and a near death experience for a Westlake High athlete two years ago, raise questions about heart disease and athletics. Joining us is Dr. Charles Woodard, a cardiologist on staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
