Dr. Julie Chen, M.D. is an integrative medicine physician specializing in the practice of holistic medicine to help improve overall health, prevent and treat disease as well as maximize longevity. Graduating from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry with a Bachelor’s in Public Health and a Doctorate in Medicine with Distinction in Research, Dr. Chen received multiple awards for her training and research from the American Medical Women’s Association and American Academy of Dermatology and American College of Physicians. Unlike most physicians, Dr. Chen devises a specific health plan, integrating both holistic and conventional medical approaches, for each of her patients based on an individual’s cultural and personal beliefs. Dr. Chen empowers her patients through the philosophies of conventional and complementary medicine making them confident and comfortable with their own abilities to achieve and maintain life-long wellness. By using the right combination of herbs, supplements, conventional medical approahces, nutritional modifications, and mind-body medicine, Dr. Chen can help turn your health around and improve the odds against disease onset or progression. She will also work closely with her patients existing doctors to make sure the conventional and complementary health treatments are the safest and most effective treatments in health care. Dr. Chen is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is board certified in Integrative Medicine by the American Board of Integrative Holistic Medicine. She has received formal fellowship training in Integrative Medicine with Dr. Andrew Weil's program at the University of Arizona, Arizona Center for Integrative in Tucson, Arizona. She has also trained with Helms Medical Institute for Medical Acupuncture and Chinese Scalp Acupuncture for Physicians and has also received extensive training in, but not limited to, clinical hypnotherapy, strain-counterstrain manual therapy, and heart-rate variability biofeedback training. She is a member of multiple clinical associations including, but not limited to, American Medical Association, American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, American Holistic Medical Association, American Association of Behavioral Therapists, and American Society of Clinical Hypnosis.
