He is an internationally recognized expert in stapedectomy surgery for treatment of deafness. He is one of a handful of surgeons in the world who has performed thousands of stapedectomies. Dr. Lippy created "The Lippy Stapes Prosthesis", many instruments used in stapdectomy surgery, and has many scientific publications to his name. His efforts in educating young otologists and audiologists are internationally recognized. He also teaches and performs ear surgery abroad. He is the past president of the Otosclerosis Study Group.
