< BackIntegrative Oncology: Finding A Treatment That Works for YouGuest(s) Dr. Katherine Lik ND Topic Integrative Oncology Topic Info Every year over 230,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer, and in America today there are over 2.5 million survivors who are living proof that this disease can be overcome. A unique partnership between traditional treatment and integrative medicine is helping more and more women beat breast cancer and decrease their chances of it ever coming back. Nationally renowned for her work in naturopathic medicine and cancer research, Dr. Katherine Lik of the Raby Institute comes on the show to tell listeners that when coupled with alternative therapies, conventional treatments like surgery, chemotherapy and radiation work much better. Guest Info Dr. Lik was concerned with the suffering of those around her from a young age. She recognized the therapeutic effect of caring, kindness, and listening but always desired to be able to offer more. As a young person she volunteered and worked for many organizations focused on alleviating human suffering. She found her calling, however, when she was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Lik graduated from National College of Natural Medicine in 2007 with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and Certificate in Homeopathy. She joined the staff at Cancer Treatment Centers of America Midwestern Regional Medical Center in 2009 after completing a two-year residency focused on oncology at that same institute. Dr. Lik maintains her license as a Naturopathic Doctor through the Bureau of Naturopathic Medicine in the State of California. She is certified as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine by the North American Board of Naturopathic Examiners and is a candidate fellow of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology. She is a member of American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Illinois Association of Naturopathic Physicians, Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society of Integrative Oncology, American College for Advancement in Medicine, and The Institute for Functional Medicine.
