Dr. Stuart Phillips, PhD is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University. He is also the leader of the University’s Exercise Metabolism Research Group, and his primary research area is skeletal muscle metabolism. He is very interested in how muscle mass is regulated by exercise/activity, feeding, and inactivity/immobilization, to be able to better determine how to combat the loss of muscle protein mass that occurs with various diseases.
