HPV Test vs. The Pap Smear: New testing methods that could save your life
Topic Info
Women often assume that pap smears are an all-in-one detector of the abnormal. However, recent studies have suggested that the pap may not be as thorough and accurate as we think. Most women won’t know they have HPV until it’s life threatening, causing thousands will die from this preventable disease. With the recent controversy over administering HPV vaccines to school-age girls, many parents and women visiting the doctor’s office are still confused about what they should be asking for. Joining us is Dr. Marie Savard, author and internist, whose mission is to empower every woman to take charge of her own health. Also joining us is Jodi McKinney, a mother of five who took the pap and HPV test, receiving very different and surprising results. Please invite your mother, sister, daughter, and friends for a discussion that could be life saving.
