Immediately upon joining Mission Hospital in 1993, he served as Medical Director of the hospital’s Reproductive Center until 1995. Since 1994, Dr. Zarutskie has been a member of the Bioethics Committee at Mission Hospital, and was the committee’s chairman from 1996 to 2004. He enjoys helping his patients gain knowledge and insight into their medical problems, while developing strong doctor-patient relationships.
Dr. Zarutskie has shared his medical expertise through numerous teaching positions at several highly respected universities such as Harvard Medical School, University of Pittsburg School of Medicine and University of Washington. He belongs to over a dozen professional organizations including the American Society of Human Genetics, the Society of Reproductive Surgeons and the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology, for which he was president from 1995 to 1996. In addition to being published in numerous medical publications, he has also received the National Academies of Practice Honor Award in 1997, and from 2000 to 2004 was named one of the “Best Doctors in Orange County” by Orange Coast Magazine.
