Guest(s) Dr. Haygoush Kalinian, PhD, Clinical Neuropsychologist for Mission Hospital Topic Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: An Underdiagnosed, Yet Devastating Disorder Guest Info Dr. Haygoush Kalinian is a licensed Psychologist / Neuropsychologist and credentialed by the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. She is engaged in private practice in the areas of Forensic and Clinical Neuropsychological evaluation and treatment of adults and the elderly who suffer from traumatic brain injury, post- concussive syndrome, stroke, Attention-Deficit-Disorder (ADD/ADHD), seizure disorder, epilepsy, anoxic injuries, dementia (e.g., Alzheimer's Disease), and other neurological, medical, and psychiatric disorders. Additionally, Dr. Kalinian is a consultant to the Department of Medicine at Mission Hospital and an adjunct faculty at Argosy University/Orange County Campus. Dr. Kalinian also conducts workshops, presents locally and nationally, and publishes on topics related to brain disorders and neuropsychology. Before obtaining her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology, Dr. Kalinian worked as a CT/MRI technologist. It was during this time that her curiosity about the brain-behavior relationship led her career path to becoming a Clinical Neuropsychologist. Dr. Kalinian completed a predoctoral Internship in Neuropsychology at UC-Davis Medical Center and a postdoctoral Fellowship training in Neuropsychology at UC-San Francisco's General Hospital. Dr. Kalinian has received numerous honors and awards, including the Blue Ribbon award of Excellence in Scientific Presentation from American Psychological Association's DIV 40-Clinical Neuropsychology. She is also a Lifetime Member of Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology.
