Guest Info Dr. Eldin Karaikovic is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric spine surgery and orthopaedic trauma at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. He also is Director of the ENH Medical Group Spine Center and Lead Physician of the medical group’s orthopaedic practice. Dr. Karaikovic earned his medical degree from the University of Sarajevo, School of Medicine in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1983. He completed two residencies in orthopaedic surgery: one at the University of Sarajevo Medical Center in 1991, and the other at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2002. He completed his first fellowship in Orthopaedic Trauma in 1992 at New York University, Booth Memorial Medical Center. A second fellowship in Adult and Pediatric Spine was completed in 1993 at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Since 2002, Dr. Karaikovic has been a senior attending orthopaedic surgeon at ENH and a faculty member at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He also holds board certifications and medical licenses as Diplomat of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Diplomat of the Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has published two dozen book chapters and peer-reviewed articles, and given over eighty presentations. He has pursued philanthropic endeavors by volunteering his expertise and service to organizations that provide orthopaedic care to people in the Philippines, Vietnam, Costa Rica and Moldova. He is fluent in English, Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian.
