Our physician expert explains. Guest Info Todd L. Slesinger, MD, FACEP, FCCM grew up in New England. He completed his B.A. at the University of Chicago, and then spent seven years in Brooklyn attending medical school at SUNY Downstate and then completing his emergency medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital. Dr. Slesinger then completed a fellowship in trauma/ critical care at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center at the University of Maryland.
For the last ten years Dr. Slesinger has worked in the North Shore LIJ Health System. He is faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine at North Shore where he is the director of the critical care medicine fellowship, one of the first emergency medicine based critical care fellowships in the country. He is also faculty in the Department of Surgery in the Surgical Critical Care fellowship program and a teaching attending in the SICU. His practice also includes attending at the Cohen’s Children Hospital in the pediatric emergency department, as well as in the Department of Medicine at North Shore in the MICU.
