She will provide signs that your child may be special needs or have a learning disorder and what parents can do to help their children with special education programs and the benefits they can provide. Guest Info Ms. Nzingha West is the founder of Urbane Academics, a New York City special needs educational facility established in 2005 to provide testing, cognitive tutoring, and remediation for children diagnosed with learning disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia and dysgraphia. She has worked as a laboratory assistant at the American Museum of Natural History, taught at The Learning Annex and The City College of New York. She's worked with the Harlem Children's Zone (the president of the company was on OPRAH!), the Police Athletic League and C.A.R.D (Center for Autistic Research and Disease). She is licensed as a teacher in New York State with 10 years of experience in New York City.
