The new Press-Ganey report shows that the average time spent in Emergency Rooms is at an all time high. Dr. David Seaberg, who is on the ACEP Board of Directors joins the show to discuss how and why wait times for the emergency departments around the country have increased and the problems many patients and physicians are dealing with and what can or should be done.

Dr. David Seaberg is a professor and dean of the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine, Chattanooga, and a practicing emergency physician. He previously served as a residency director and chairman of the department of emergency medicine at the University of Florida, where he was on the faculty for 13 years. Dr. Seaberg also has served as president of the Florida Chapter of ACEP. While in Florida, he founded the University Alliance for Weapons of Mass Destruction Education and served as co-chair of the Health/Medical/Hospital/ EMS Committee of the State Work Group for Domestic Security.

Dr. Seaberg has been a member of ACEP for more than 15 years. He was first elected to the ACEP Board in 2005 and is chair-elect of the ACEP Foundation. Dr. Seaberg is presently board liaison to the Public Relations and Clinical Practices Committees, as well as the Geriatric, Hyperbaric and Cruise Ship Medicine Sections. Dr. Seaberg attended medical school at the University of Minnesota and completed his emergency medicine residency training at the University of Pittsburgh.
