Spring is in the air, literally with rising pollen counts. Most of us get them this time of year. Symptoms of sneezing, watery/itchy eyes are associated with allergies and also with colds...learn about how you can tell the difference. We will discuss other complications that allergies can aggravate such as upper-respiratory issues or asthma. Learn what you can do to keep safe and out of the ER this Spring.

Dr. Matt Rice received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was Battalion Surgeon and Operations Medical Officer for VII Corp Headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany for three years prior to his Emergency Medicine residency at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Rice served in numerous roles as a staff physician at Madigan Army Medical Center including advisor to the Surgeon General in Emergency Medicine. He served as program director for the Madigan/University of Washington Emergency Medicine Residency Program and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, before retiring from the Army in January 2000. He recently was Senior Vice President of the largest Emergency Medicine Group in the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Rice holds a Law Degree from Seattle University. He writes and teaches extensively on medical and legal issues. Dr. Rice is known as a creative educator with high ideals and standards. To his many credits are numerous educational programs, published articles and hundreds of well trained Emergency Medicine Residents. Dr. Rice is involved in various research projects and actively works with the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Rice is also very active in local community organizations and participates in state and national political issues.
