Dry eye syndrome is the most common of all eye problems affecting one out of five or 59 million Americans. The growing popularity of refractive procedures such as laser vision correction (LASIK)have increased ophthalmologists need to treat dry eyes in order to achieve satisfactory surgical outcomes. Dr. Chris Coad joins the show to discuss how to treat dry eye syndrome.

Dr. Coad is a graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, and interned at St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. He completed his postgraduate training in Ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary in New York City. Dr. Coad completed his fellowship training in international ophthalmology with ORBIS, the only international flying eye institute. ORBIS is based on board a jet fully equipped with examination rooms and operating facilities.

Dr. Coad is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S.). He is on staff at St. Vincent's Hospital and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He continues to travel the world exchanging ophthalmic skills as a member of the ORBIS team and lectures throughout the United States on the treatment of CMV Retinitis.
