Mia Hamm Discusses The Importance Adult Vaccinations
Topic Info
Soccer legend Mia Hamm is involved in this great, new campaign, “Give Your Health A Shot”—an unbranded educational campaign that emphasizes the importance of adult vaccination as a key component of healthy living. Now that Mia has retired from professional soccer, she no longer has the team doctors to guide her in her healthcare decisions. Like everyone else, Mia now has to be proactive about the health of her and her family and wants to encourage other adults to take control of their health.
Soccer Super Star Mia Hamm comes on the show alongside Dr. Brad Moore, associate professor of medicine and health policy at The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, to offer an array of helpful tips and advice for adults, including top vaccines adults need and what questions adults should be asking their doctor. As a policy expert, Dr. Moore can also speak to the new healthcare reform policy, effective September 23, which requires all new health plans to provide preventative health services, including vaccinations, free of charge to consumers.
