Dr. Mullen specializes in the advanced technologies of therapeutic radiation oncology. He is skilled in high-dose brachytherapy (including radioactive seed implants), gamma knife for lesions of the brain, and total body irradiation. Dr. Mullen received his medical degree from the University of Virginia and his postgraduate training at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. Prior to entering private practice at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, he spent three years at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was engaged in extensive clinical research with the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group, Gynecologic Oncology Group, Cooperative Ocular Melanoma Study, and National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Protocol. In 2000, he joined South Nassau to head all radiation oncology programs based at the Hospital and the new satellite cancer facility in Valley Stream, NY.
