Guest Info
Seven-time NBA All-Star Grant Hill is dedicated both on and off the court. He has been involved with nearly 50 philanthropic organizations and endeavors during his career, in addition to countless speaking engagements and charitable giving. Hill’s latest effort to help others is his involvement with the Stop MRSA Now coalition.

In 2003, Hill was sidelined with a MRSA infection. His temperature climbed so high due to the infection that it nearly killed him. At the time of his diagnosis, Hill was frustrated by the lack of information about MRSA and how to prevent it. After this harrowing experience, Hill was eager to educate the public about this deadly form of Staph infection, and what steps people can take to protect themselves from MRSA.

Hill, who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns, began his career as a stand-out player at Duke University. After completing his education at Duke, Grant was the number one pick by the Detroit Pistons in the 1994 NBA draft. After six years with the Pistons, Grant moved on, signing with the Orlando Magic in 2000, and in July 2007, Grant Hill signed a two-year deal with the Phoenix Suns.

Hill has been the recipient of numerous sportsmanship awards throughout his career. He was named the 2004-2005 NBA Sportsmanship Award winner for his “sportsmanship, ethical behavior, fair play and integrity.” During the 2007-08 season, Hill was honored for the second time in his career with the NBA Sportsmanship Award (Joe Dumars Trophy). This marked the first time that a player has received the award more than once.

In May of 2006, Hill was named the recipient of the 2006 Magic Johnson Award, awarded by the Professional Basketball Writers Association. The award honors an NBA player who combines excellence on the court with outstanding cooperation with the media and, by extension, the fans.

Hill currently resides in Phoenix, Arizona, with his wife Tamia and their daughters.
