Michelle Pearl, who operates a unique fitness program at www.ImperfectFitness.com, is author of Wake Up! You’re Probably Never Going to Look Like That: How to be Happier, Healthier and Imperfectly Fit Second Edition. A fitness expert and entrepreneur, Pearl also is a former award-winning newspaper columnist, having won Society of Professional Journalists awards for writing one of the best feature columns in her region of Southern California in 2005 and 2006.

Ms. Pearl holds a rare triple certification1 which includes credentials as an American Council on Exercise (ACE®) Certified Personal Trainer (CPT), an ACE® certified Group Fitness Instructor (GFI), and the advanced certification of an ACE® Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant (LWMC). In addition, she is a professional member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM®) Alliance of Health and Fitness Professionals and a professional member of the IDEA® Health and Fitness Association.

Pearl is also the owner of multiple businesses, including an online exercise service called Imperfect Fitness which creates customized DVD’s for exercisers based on their general health and fitness level. To drive home her message, Pearl features exercise assistants in her videos who are healthy and fit, but do not have “perfect” bodies.

The motto of her Imperfect Fitness business is, “You don’t have to be perfect to be fit.” A native of California, Pearl is married with three sons.
