Richard Lampman, Ph.D., FACSM, is director of surgical research at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich. He is an expert on cholesterol and its effects on the cardiovascular system. He has also conducted studies on exercise and obesity, glucose control, diabetes and more. He is a 30-year member of the American College of Sports Medicine.
