Dr. Steven Gausewitz specializes in the treatment of degenerative and traumatic conditions affecting the hip, knee and shoulder. His focus is on adult reconstructive surgery, including primary and revision total joint replacement. His practice includes arthroscopic outpatient surgery. He has special interest in the development and utilization of less invasive surgical approaches and alternative bearing surfaces. He enjoys working with patients to develop the best plan for their unique orthopedic problem.

Dr. Gausewitz attended the University of California at Berkeley and earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. He has been in practice in Newport Beach and on staff at Hoag Hospital since completing this training. He has served as Chairman of the Orthopedic Department, on the Medical Executive Committee, and on the Hospital Foundation 552 Club Board.
