Dr. Brian Suffoletto is an assistant professor at the University of Pittsburgh and a practicing clinician at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. Brian was a recipient of the Emergency Medicine Foundation grant to study the feasibility of using text messaging (SMS) to assess and intervene with young adults with hazardous drinking after emergency department discharge.

He worked with computer engineers and addiction specialists to design and test an automated system that uses cell phone text-messaging to interact with individuals.
