Dr.David Baehren, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and regular columnist for ACEP joins the show to discuss his recent study that examines how a statewide prescription-monitoring program affects how much pain medicine doctors will prescribe in an emergency situation the unique problems ER doctors will face when patients come into emergency departments in pain.

Dr. David Baehren grew up in the Toledo area and earned his MD at the Medical College of Ohio (now the University Of Toledo College Of Medicine) in 1986. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at The Ohio State University and served as chief resident. Dr. Baehren is board certified and is certified to perform liposuction. He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Toledo Medical Center and writes a monthly column for ACEP News.

Dr. Baehren is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Physicians.
