Debbie Mulligan, RN, MSN, CIC -

Debbie Mulligan is Infection Prevention Manager at Mission Hospital. Her responsibilities include the development of infection prevention plans and policies, and the creation of educational programs that provide prevention resources to the Mission Hospital staff. Mulligan also collects data, analyzes results and develops plans for improvement to present to administrative, medical and staff committees. During her tenure, she has instituted a number of protocols that have increased awareness and reduced infections for inpatients. Most recently, Mulligan spearheaded the department’s efforts with Blue Shield Foundation of California on a pilot project that increased the identification of and response time to treating hospital acquired infections.

Mulligan brings 30 years of nursing experience to Mission Hospital. She is a member of the National League of Nurses, the Association Practitioners of Infection Control where she served as Secretary of the Orange County Chapter for two years, and Sigma Theta Tau, a nursing honors organization. She loves “sleuthing out” infection issues and resolving them before they can become serious.
