Guest(s) Dr. Jeannine Cobb Topic Obesity, Weight Loss and Becoming Healthier Topic Info Dr. Jeannine Cobb, Medical Director of Medi-Weightloss Clinics in Andover, Kansas joins the show to share her personal story of weight loss and overcoming health issues. Dr. Cobb lost 100 pounds and her doctors subsequently found a small growth in the early stages of breast cancer, which they said likely would not have been detected had she not lost the weight. Guest Info Dr. Jeannine M. Cobb, M.D. began her career in medicine as a nurse, graduating from Wesley Medical Center School of Nursing, then receiving her BSN at Wichita State. She then graduated from Medical School at the University of Kansas – Wichita, before OB/GYN residency at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. She returned to Wichita and practiced as an OB/GYN at the Wichita Clinic for 16 years, spending much of her time dealing with issues caused by the obesity of her patients. When she started dealing with her own health issues, her cardiologist and rheumatologist suggested that she needed to lose weight herself. That, and a growing number of grandchildren who needed a healthy and active grandmother, convinced her to look into weight loss programs for herself. She found Medi-Weightloss Clinics®, started on the program herself and eventually became involved in opening a clinic. Dr. Cobb has now retired from her OB/GYN practice and is devoted full time to combating obesity and weight loss as Medical Director of Medi-Weightloss Clinics® in Andover, KS.
