Nena Dockery, from National Enzyme joins the show to discuss enzymes; what are they, description of the various kinds of enzymes: pancreatic, plant enzymes and microbial enzymes and how they differ and the necessity of enzyme supplementation.
Nena Dockery's principal role at National Enzyme Company is in the area of both customer and consumer education regarding digestive health and the beneficial role that supplemental enzymes play in supporting this critical function. However, she also provides valuable input in the areas of formulation and the selection of new ingredients, evaluating each ingredient for safety, efficacy, and dosing. She is directly involved in organizing NEC’s research endeavors, and oversees issues related to patents, including NEC’s patent submissions. She keeps abreast of developing regulations in the dietary supplement industry and ensures that the appropriate NEC personnel are informed of all aspects of new regulations. She also provides input regarding safety, efficacy and regulatory impact for current and proposed product development projects. Nena is an active member of the Enzyme Technical Association where she chairs the Dietary Supplement committee. She is also a member of the American Herbal Products Association, American Botanical Council and the American Nutraceutical Association.
Ms. Dockery holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville; and did Master’s work in the area of Endocrinology and Histology. She also holds a Master of Science in Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport.
