Children's Health: Cough Syrup
Topic Info
There are many over the counter cough medicines available that claim to be safe for children ages 4 and older, however what if your toddler has a bad cough and cannot sleep at night? In the past, parents would just give their young children the medicine anyway with no regard for the instructions on the label, because of this; thousands of children were ending up in hospital emergency rooms with breathing problems, dizziness and high blood pressure. There were also several reports of children who actually died from accidental cough syrup overdoses.

Pediatrician, Dr. Zak Zarbock joins the show to discuss what parents should know before giving their kids cough syrup!
