Dr. Jan Rakinic, Chief of the Section of Colorectal Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine joins the show to discuss how to heal hemorrhoids and other serious colorectal issues.

Jan Rakinic, M.D. is the Chief of the Section of Colorectal Surgery at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, and the Program Director of the Southern Illinois University Colorectal Surgery Residency. She practices all aspects of Colorectal Surgery. Dr. Rakinic received her medical degree from Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans, completed General Surgery training at University of Illinois/Cook County Hospital in Chicago, and completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She has served as Chair of the Residency Review Committee for Colon and Rectal Surgery for the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education, and is active in the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
