Topic Info
Is your child a couch potato? With the increasing popularity of video games and fast foods, more and more children suffer from obesity. While healthy children gain weight as they grow, those extra pounds—more than what's needed to support their growth and development—can lead to serious medical conditions that often start kids on the path to health problems that were once confined to adults, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Dr. Danette Null, a family practice physician on staff at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital, discusses the health concerns that obesity creates for your children.
