Resident physicians are exposed to many opportunities during their three years of training at Memorial Hospital. Depending on their rotation schedule, a resident will make clinical rounds on the medical or surgical floors, treat ambulatory patients in the Family Practice Clinic or hospital emergency department, care for or help deliver newborns at Memorial Hospital for Women, or see patients at a number of community clinics. Dr. Ben Williams, a physician in his third and final year of his family medicine residency, talks about a typical day as a resident in the Memorial/LSUHSC Family Medicine Residency Program.

A native of Lake Charles, Dr. Ben Williams is a graduate of Jesuit University in Mobile, Alabama, and Saba University School of Medicine. He is currently completing his family medicine residency at the Memorial/LSUHSC Family Medicine Residency Program.
