Andrew Schorr, founder of Seattle-based HealthTalk.com, a pioneering web site for patients, has been a medical broadcaster for 20 years.
"Andrew Schorr’s Patient Power" connects you LIVE with a leading medical expert on an important health topic and puts you back in control of your own health. If you or a loved one has a chronic health condition or cancer this is the nation’s most credible radio show where you can get expert guidance to access the best medicine available today. By “getting smart” about health issues and seeking out the best care available, Andrew Schorr, a 9-year leukemia survivor, has a mission to pass his expertise and experience on to you each week.
Over the years, either as a HealthTalk host, national radio and television news reporter and producer, or producer of national documentaries, Andrew Schorr has spoken in-depth with hundreds of patients and top medical experts on a wide variety of important health subjects. He is also a cancer survivor (chronic lymphocytic leukemia, or CLL) and was diagnosed in 1996 through a routine blood test. In 2000 he began treatment through a Phase II clinical trial and today remains one of the first patients in the world to achieve deep PCR-negative (polymerase chain reaction-negative) remission.
Andrew is an outspoken advocate for patients taking an active role in their care and has launched "Andrew Schorr's Patient Power" on Health Radio Network as part of his mission. Andrew has a degree in journalism and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in Journalism from Columbia University.
