Dr. Aseem D. Desai, M.D. joined the medical staff at Mission Hospital in 2005. As a Cardiac Electrophysiologist, Dr. Desai studies the electrical activities of the heart to diagnose and treat patients with complex heart conditions. His expertise in the diagnosis and treatments of abnormal heart conditions using advanced medical devices makes Dr. Desai a much sought after lecturer, not only at Mission Hospital, but around the country. He has given dozens of presentations on cardiac electrophysiology at hospitals in Chicago and at Stanford University Medical Center, where he did his post-doctoral training, and many more.
Dr. Desai is Board Certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of professional societies such as the Heart Rhythm Society and the American College of Physicians. He has completed research in numerous clinical studies and has been published in dozens of journals, textbooks and abstracts including the Journal of Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiology and the American Journal of Medicine. Dr. Desai has many reasons for practicing cardiac electrophysiology, but takes pride most in improving the quality of life, providing safe and effective treatments and helping prolong the life of his patients.
