Inspiration and innovation has turned phenomenal advanced robotics technology and impossible dreams into realization. For the past eight years a passionate team of experienced scientists and engineers have developed a solution which enables wheelchair users (and other with mobility impairment) to stand and walk, for these people to be independently upright and mobile.

This solution is a robotic exoskeleton called Rex.

Helen is the CEO of Rex Bionics, an advanced technology robotics organization which has designed and developed a robotic exoskeleton (Rex) which provides mobility to wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments. Uniquely Rex enables users to independently stand, walk, climb stairs and go up slopes.

Helen has led many technology companies over the past 25 years, including as CEO of Microsoft, New Zealand, and as Vice President of APAC, Pivotal Corporation, a Canadian CRM software company. Her current directorships include National Institute of Water & Atmospheric Research (NIWA) and the NZ Business Excellence Foundation. As a past Director for Auckland Plus (part of Auckland Regional Council) Helen chaired the Metro Innovation and Export Project.
