Maas is one of the most highly regarded and sought-after facial plastic surgeons in the world. He is regularly featured in newspapers, television broadcasts, and magazines, from San Francisco Medicine and Cosmetic Surgery Times to Vogue and Allure.

After graduating from the University of Florida College of Medicine with the highest honors, San Francisco cosmetic surgeon Dr. Maas matriculated an internship in General Surgery Head-and-Neck Surgery residency at the St. Louis University College of Medicine and completed his specialty training with a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. His academic and clinical achievements earned him a full-time faculty appointment, serving as Chief of the Division of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for more than 11 years.

For the last two and a half decades, Dr. Maas has dedicated himself to helping advance the field of facial plastic surgery with groundbreaking clinical research, receiving countless honors and awards for his endeavors, including the prestigious Sir Harold Delf Gilles Award from the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has published more than 100 book chapters, articles and is regularly recruited to lecture to medical societies, both nationally and internationally. Dr. Maas is also responsible for the specialty education of facial plastic surgery to residents and medical students.

In addition to his busy practice, Dr. Maas believes in the value of community service and for more than 15 years has provided his reconstructive surgery services free of charge to victims of domestic violence through a special project sponsored by the American Academy of Facial and Reconstructive Surgery. His highly successful “Books for Botox” project collects more than one thousand books annually for San Francisco, Marin and Truckee school children.
