Guest(s) Dr. Rodney Willoughby Jr., MD, FAAP Topic Antibiotics and Antibiotic Resistance Topic Info The AAP is a partner in Get Smart About Antibiotics Week, November 15-21. This CDC campaign raises awareness of appropriate antibiotic use, and aims to improve use of antibiotics in healthcare settings. Dr. Rodney Willoughby Jr., MD, FAAP, comes on the show to discuss this campaign and how parents can help avoid inappropriate antibiotic use. Guest Info Dr. Willoughby attended the Johns Hopkins Medical School, did his pediatrics residency at University of California-San Diego and Johns Hopkins University, and completed infectious diseases and biological chemistry fellowships at Johns Hopkins University. He is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin and on the staff at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Willoughby led the team credited with the first survivor of rabies without prior vaccination in 2004. There are now three additional survivors using his protocol.
