Dan Morhaim, M.D. brings a unique background.

First, as a physician, he has over 30 years front-line clinical experience in high-volume emergency department trauma centers, Health Care for the Homeless in Baltimore, and special practices sites such as the Indian Health Service. He is board-certified in both Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. He founded, built, and ran a 90-doctor group medical practice before getting elected to public office.

Second, Dan is an elected member of the Maryland State Legislature's House of Delegates. The only physician in the 141-member House, Dan first won office in 1994 and then was re-elected in 1998, 2002, and 2006. He serves as Deputy Majority Leader, House Chair of the Joint Committee on Health Care Delivery and Finance, and Chair of the Government Operations sub-committee. He is a recognized leader in health care, environment, minority business, and streamlining government operations.

Third, Dan is active faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. For the past 10 years, he has organized the school's Annual Fall Seminar Series. He teaches classes and, with colleagues, has published papers in peer-review journals.

Dan is a frequent guest on local and national TV and radio, and he has published numerous op-eds for major papers. He has extensive public speaking experience before medical, political, academic, and community groups.
