New data recently released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that one in ten persons in the U.S. has diabetes and one in four of those with diabetes are undiagnosed. Dr. Delgado joins Dr. DeSilva to discuss why rates of diabetes (including undiagnosed diabetes) are higher in Hispanics than among non-Hispanic whites.

Dr. Jane L. Delgado is a Psychologist and President and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health. She is also an award-winning author of the The Latina Guide to Health: Consejos and Caring Answers. Dr. Delgado was named by WebMD the Magazine as a Health Hero of the year, as well as one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics” by People en Español magazine. In 2010, the Ladies Home Journal named Dr. Delgado one of the “Ladies We Love.”
