Selecting Your Health Benefits
Topic Info
We often spend at least 30-60 minutes a day taking care of our health and well-being. It might be a yoga class, a healthy meal, a run in the park or a relaxing massage. However, when it comes to selecting our health benefits for the year, this frequently falls to the bottom of our “to-do” lists. Open enrollment is the time when millions of Americans are able to make changes to their health benefits plans at work. It’s held once a year, often between October and December and lasts for about 30 days. With more than 70 percent of Americans making their annual health benefits decisions during the open enrollment period, this will be the first broad opportunity for people to “test drive ”some of the health reform measures that will be enacted before 2014.
