Dr. Douglas L. Packer is the 2010-2011 President of the Heart Rhythm Society. He is a consultant in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases, Director of the Heart Rhythm Services, and Director of the Translational Electrophysiology Research Laboratory at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Dr. Packer is recognized with the academic rank of Professor of Medicine and is internationally known in cardiac electrophysiology.
Dr. Packer is active in several medical associations and has served on editorial boards for the HeartRhythm Journal, American Heart Journal, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, and Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Furthermore, he has served on National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute work groups on atrial fibrillation.
