Courtney provides a gentle, warm, and supportive space to make things right again. As an experienced counselor who devotes a lot of time and attention to each person, her goal is to help you come to know and trust your deepest feelings and values. Courtney’s approach will free you to move your life forward in a positive direction. It does not have to take years to “get over” trauma and the possibilities of what we can do with our lives are endless, no matter the personal history.
Courtney began her career working with inner-city kids in New Orleans in the 1990?s. Many of these kids had been in gangs, and had seen an incredible amount of loss and trauma. Those kids had a great impact on Courtney and broadened her understanding of the effects of violence, trauma, and grief.
When Courtney moved to Chattanooga in 1997, she worked as a therapist with a local psychiatric hospital for several years, and did some work as a consultant for a disability insurance company. From these experiences, Courtney learned even more about the tremendous effect unresolved anxiety, grief, and trauma can have on a person’s mental and physical well-being. She pursued training in biofeedback, hypnosis, and developed a mind-body programs in a physician’s office that offered integrative approaches to treatment. In 2007, Courtney discovered Rapid Resolution Therapy®, a revolutionary approach that often clears the negative effects of trauma and stress in as little as one to three sessions. Courtney is a Master Practitioner in Rapid Resolution Therapy®, trains other mental health professionals in the method, and her practice is one of four IRRT Certified Treatment Centers in the United States.
