Joseph Petreycik, RN, CES, comes on the show to give a brief overview of how the heart works and why one might need cardiac rehabilitation. He will help patients understand the medications involved in cardiac rehab - what they do, why you need them, and some frequently asked questions about cardiac rehabilitation.

Joseph Petreycik, RN, CES, is a registered nurse and clinical exercise physiologist at Bridgeport Hospital in Bridgeport, CT, where he divides his time between cardiac rehab and surgical ICU. He obtained his bachelor's degree in exercise science at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, where he played four years of collegiate tennis. He is a competitive bodybuilder at the national level, whose accomplishments include two-time Mr. CT. Overall Bodybuilding Champion. His current personal projects include writing a book and filming a video focusing on exercise for optimal heart health. Joe is an ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise SpecialistSM.
