Most children experience the pain of ear infections, which typically occur when a cold, throat infection, or allergy attack causes fluid to become trapped in their middle ear. The small part of the ear behind the eardrum, the middle ear gets infected when germs from the nose and throat are trapped. A Louisiana native, Kipp Ardoin, MD, is a pediatrician on staff at Memorial. Dr. Ardoin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology, and received his medical degree from St. Matthew’s School of Medicine in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the Tulane University School of Medicine/Oschner Clinic Foundation Pediatric Residency Program. Dr. Ardoin is with the Children’s Clinic of Southwest Louisiana.
