As the nation works toward a national plan that will address the growing crisis of Alzheimer’s disease, the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) is encouraging Americans to take their own steps as November is National Alzheimer's Awareness Month to be proactive about memory health by taking advantage of free memory screenings during National Memory Screening Day (NMSD) on November 15. Carol Steinberg, executive vice president of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) joins Melanie Cole M.S. to discuss screening, prevention and the latest treatments for Alzheimers.

Carol Steinberg is executive vice president of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), and has served in this capacity since the organization’s founding.

Her responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of AFA’s communications, public relations and development; serving as editor in chief of care ADvantage, a free magazine for caregivers; participating in strategic decision-making related to the development and implementation of programs, services and advocacy; and handling various administrative and operational functions.

Prior to joining AFA, Ms. Steinberg had an extensive career as an award-winning freelance journalist. She is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
